It’s been a while since I posted here because I honestly can’t think of a single noteworthy thing to say. But tonight, I was messing about, and to my surprise, discovered that NTL Ireland were…well…I’ll let the picture do the talking.

NTL Ireland

The law of unintended consequences! (wiki)

I’ve written two posts (one, two) previously complaining about NTL Ireland’s poor customer service. Others responded but it seems like NTL Ireland may have the last laugh. And it’s based on a true story!!

Was seeking info from NTL technical support after waiting 15 minutes to get on. Girl responded to my query but when I was asking a followup question she simply repeated her first comment and hung up. I was left talking to a dial tone. The whole lot took 30 seconds. I am flabergasted at the company culture of rudeness and indifference. I hope a good competitor comes on the market soon and I will vote with my feet.

It’s a bit like Eircom owning the ‘last mile’ of cable to your house. Everyone has to deal with Eircom for fixed broadband.

NTL/UPC own the ‘last mile’ of cable to 99% of houses in Dublin so I think SKY is the only alternative for the moment.
