Golf and more

Almost recovered from the golfing weekend. It wasn’t just golf, you know. As Bill Shankly, I think, would have said, ‘it’s not just football, it’s much more important than that’. It was actually the Mick Lewis Memorial golf weekend. Here’s some photos
It was a very nice weekend, even when viewed through alcohol-tinted lenses. Normal golf is too easy for me so I decided to challenge myself by mostly playing in the rough and through the trees
I had 1 good shot in 50 and I had three good shots. For the non-golfers, a good round would be less than 90. Assume 100 and work it out for yourselves! Oddly enough, I didn’t win the worst golfer prize so that was some consolation, I guess?
I can never work out these familial links but it was the first visit of my niece’s child to Dungarvan. It meant a big deal to my father as I believe Joeseph, said child, is the great-grandchild of my father’s mother (you see what I mean). Like I said, I can never work these things out. Long may his visits continue. Don’t even ask about Uncle Billy* (*made up – I can never keep track of these things) who moved to London way back when and proceded to marry/divorce/’live in sin‘/have children with ’several’ of his semi-close relatives. Worse, he died intestate and, needless to say, he is remembered very, very well when various relatives have a few too many beers.
None of this was allowed to impinge on the Mick Lewis Memorial weekend. Only the great and good (and 3 locals) attended. I shouldn’t be too cynical as it was a good weekend. Here’s a few photos.
